Prof McDonald is the Director of the EpiCentre. He is a clinician-scientist, with a background in the epidemiology of chronic kidney disease and more generally Clinical Quality Registries, data linkage. He has expertise in analysis of cohort and longitudinal data, and using this data to inform health care systems and clinical decisions. His particular interests include access to and outcomes of health care in the hospital sector. In addition to his role in the EpiCentre he is a senior staff nephrologist at the RAH and oversees dialysis services throughout regional South Australia; he is the co-chair of the National Indigenous Kidney Transplant Taskforce.

Associate Professor Liz Sutton is a medical anthropologist and oversees the conduct of research at the Central Adelaide Local Health Network. Liz holds a PhD in the social sciences and in her role Director of Research she manages the strategic direction of clinical and health research across South Australia’s largest health care network.
Liz has expertise drawn from nursing, biomedical ethics, international development and not-for-profits, medical accreditation, advance care planning as well as management consulting. Liz brings an interdisciplinary lens to healthcare research. Her research explores how healthcare is delivered in practice, with a particular focus on patient agency, obstetric violence/birth trauma, and the social dimensions of medicine.
A strong advocate for research-informed practice, Liz is passionate about building research capacity and driving innovation that leads to better health outcomes. She also holds an adjunct appointment at the University of South Australia, where she works with her academic colleagues to grow the next generation of health researchers.
Annie Conway is a biostatistician at the Adelaide EpiCentre. She holds degrees in mathematics and finance, and has worked with statistics in a variety of applications. Annie's skill set includes data analysis, programming in R and STATA, and statistics education, with experience in high-dimensional data analysis, time-to-event models, and linear mixed models. Her work contributes to enhancing patient care through data-driven research and supports the progression of research careers within the clinical setting.

Dr Flynn Slattery is an Exercise Scientist with a PhD in Respiratory Health, where his research focused on the long-term rate of change in lung function among professional firefighters. With a strong background in science communication, Flynn has helped researchers effectively share the story and impact of their work. He is currently a Strategic Projects Officer at the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN), where he contributes to initiatives aimed at strengthening CALHN’s research portfolio and driving innovation across the health network.
With a legal background and extensive experience in administrative management, Loredana Lozinschi currently serves as an Administration Manager at CALHN. She provides key support for the Adelaide EpiCentre, overseeing contract management and human resources processes. She also and plays a key role in supervising CALHN’s budget applications to the Health Services Charitable Gifts Board. Her multidisciplinary expertise supports effective governance and strategic financial planning within the health network.

Currently Senior Consultant in Intensive Care, Royal Adelaide Hospital, Professor of Interprofessional Learning and Associate Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Adelaide, Adjunct Professor, University of South Australia. Long term interests: resource utilisation and system design, health policy development, evaluation and implementation, sustainable service delivery in intensive care medicine/acute care, clinical practice improvement and health reform specifically the use of educational, interdisciplinary and team-based strategies to improve patient centred outcomes and consumer engagement.
Local and national experience in clinician engagement, health reform, development of policy and clinical guidelines and subsequent implementation in organ and tissue donation, transplantation.
Madison Bills is a health operations researcher with an honour’s degree in medical radiation science (nuclear medicine). She has led initiatives across clinical service delivery, imaging and theranostics leadership, and operational transformation in complex hospital environments. Her work applies a systems-thinking approach to service design and project delivery, with a focus on patient flow, resource utilisation, workforce planning, and infrastructure alignment. Madison works across clinical and operational domains to support the development of sustainable, data-informed models of care that support both clinical outcomes and organisational priorities.
